Who We Are
LESSONS ON POST LIBERATION LIFE
History is abundant with tales of many a nations that perished after liberation because they celebrated endlessly after bondage. They became oblivious to the fact that integrity, responsibility and honest hard work were necessary for societal development. They cared less about investing energy into building functional governments and economic systems for inheritance by generations to come. Liberation generations are mostly on the bad side of history. We have to start making a choice today as a nation. That choice should be of leaving a good legacy behind so that we are not cursed for being “that destructive generation”.
Liberation glory will not eradicate poverty and bring about economic freedom and prosperity to our nation. We simply have to wake up, stand up and do the work for all the good to come. There is no other way. It might be unfashionable today, but we must respond to calls for Moota; Letṧema, Mogorogoro and other traditional African societal and community development programmes in what ever guise they are introduced amongst us. These have made the nation we are over the centuries. Yet this also calls for the biggest change of attitude on the part of leadership in this country. Most importantly as a nation we have to change attitude.
